Basketball Recap: Tucumcari Gets the Win

Tucumcari posted their closest victory since December 21, 2023 on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Clayton Yellowjackets, sneaking past 76-74. This was payback for the Rattlers, who suffered a 62-51 loss the last time these two teams met.

Tucumcari's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Clayton, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tucumcari will welcome Pecos at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Tucumcari: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Pecos has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Clayton, they will challenge Santa Rosa at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Santa Rosa will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Clayton surely won't give up without a fight.
