Softball Game Preview: Peddie Falcons vs. Mercersburg Academy Storm

The Peddie Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Mercersburg Academy Storm at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Peddie hasn't scored more than a single run for three games straight, a trend the team is eager to reverse.

Peddie fell victim to Lawrenceville School and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Red.

Peddie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Salapatas, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Mercersburg Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Saint James, falling 13-6.

Adi Rinker made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emily Guzic, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Peddie's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Mercersburg Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Peddie suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Mercersburg Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
