Basketball Recap: Nichols Takes a Loss

Nichols was the 69-55 winner over Clarence when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings had to suffer through a 56-28 loss at the hands of the Red Devils. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.

When it comes to explaining why Nichols lost on Monday, don't look at Cheyenne Barabas. Despite the final result, she posted 20 points. That was a full 71.4% of the Vikings' points, marking the third time in a row Barabas has earned more than a third of the team's points.

Nichols is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Clarence, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Nichols will square off against Depew at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarence, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on West Seneca West at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Warhawks have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
