Soccer Recap: Peoria Triumphs

Peoria kept a clean sheet against Mesquite on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Mesquite Wildcats out 1-0. Shamel Sanchez had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Panthers.

Peoria used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Mesquite. And. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Sanchez scored a goal, while he put up one assist.

Peoria's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Mesquite, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3-1.

Peoria will have a chance to go back-to-back against Mesquite: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
