Basketball Recap: Dixie Ottenschnieder Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Civic Memorial

Mater Dei hadn't done well against Civic Memorial recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Mater Dei Knights secured a 40-36 W over the Civic Memorial Eagles. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Mater Dei's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dixie Ottenschnieder, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points and five rebounds. Myah Pollmann also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Mater Dei has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Civic Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-4.

Mater Dei has already played their next contest, a 60-35 loss against Nashville on the 23rd. As for Civic Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 36-33 defeat against Teutopolis on the 23rd.
