Volleyball Recap: Natalia Ruiz Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Bel Air

El Dorado won the last time they faced Bel Air and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Aztecs came out on top against the Highlanders by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aztecs.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 24-26, 25-18, 25-16.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Dorado to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalia Ruiz, who had 40 digs and two aces. Ruiz is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 21 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Garcia, who had 11 digs and one block.

They weren't the only good servers: El Dorado was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive contests.

Hailey Morales and Mia Nathan certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Morales had ten digs, while Nathan had ten digs.

El Dorado's win bumped their record up to 13-17. As for Bel Air, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.

El Dorado has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Horizon on the 14th. As for Bel Air, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Americas on the 14th.
