Volleyball Recap: Glenbrook South Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Glenbrook North

Glenbrook South faced Glenbrook North in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Titans fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-1. The Titans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Glenbrook South started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-22, 25-16.

Ryann Knuth paced Glenbrook South's offense, picking up 15 kills. Knuth got some help from Annie Rosinski and her 26 assists. Finally, Amanda Mikuzis and Reese Eggener kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Glenbrook North found their leader in sophomore Morgan Choi, who had 15 digs and three assists. Choi is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Glenbrook South's defeat dropped their record down to 26-7. As for Glenbrook North, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 26-2.

Coming up, Glenbrook South will face off against Lane Tech at 6:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for Glenbrook North, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Taft on the 28th.
