After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Turner, Delavan-Darien was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Clinton Cougars 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Comets have posted since May 3, 2024.

Delavan-Darien saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joel Janssen, who went 2-for-4 with one run. Danny O'Grady also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

The victory got Delavan-Darien back to even at 4-4-1. As for Clinton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Delavan-Darien will head out on the road to take on Whitewater at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clinton, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Turner at 5:00 p.m. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight.
