Mitchell had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 70-25 victory over the East Lake Eagles. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Eagles are ranked 535th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mitchell has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for East Lake, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell will host River Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for East Lake, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Countryside at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
