Basketball Game Preview: Resurrection Christian Cougars vs. Brush Beetdiggers

The Resurrection Christian Cougars will face off against the Brush Beetdiggers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Resurrection Christian is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Forge Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Resurrection Christian blew Forge Christian out of the water with a 54-25 final score. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brush). They were the clear victor by a 57-34 margin over Windsor Charter Academy on Friday.

Resurrection Christian better keep an eye on Michelle Headley. She was instrumental in Brush's win, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 23 boards. Headley has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 32 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jocelynn Middlemist, who posted ten points and eight boards.

Brush smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Resurrection Christian's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. As for Brush, their victory bumped their record up to 11-4.

Everything came up roses for Resurrection Christian against Brush in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 70-31 win. In that game, Resurrection Christian amassed a halftime lead of 47-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
