Preview: Pearl City Chargers vs. Kapolei Hurricanes
Pearl City is 1-8 against Kapolei since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Pearl City Chargers will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Kapolei Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. Pearl City will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Last Monday, the stars were shining brightly for Pearl City in a 39-25 victory over Wai'anae.
Among those leading the charge was Kaiesha DeWeever, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Aiesha DeWeever, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Kapolei blew past 'Aiea, posting a 48-16 victory at home. That looming 48-16 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Kapolei yet this season.
Pearl City is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Kapolei, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Pearl City didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Kapolei when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 41-36 victory.
