Softball Recap: Valley Forge Patriots vs. North Olmsted Eagles
Valley Forge extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-10 in the process. They fell 12-9 to the North Olmsted Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 11-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
As for North Olmsted, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games.
For North Olmsted's part, Elena Scott made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Coming up, Valley Forge will challenge Buckeye at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Bucks have now posted at least ten runs in their last six contests. As for North Olmsted, they will face off against Normandy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Invaders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.71 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
