Basketball Recap: Arcadia/Loup City Extends Winning Streak to Two

Burwell came into Friday's match looking for another win against Arcadia/Loup City, but Eva Jaixen wouldn't allow it. The Arcadia/Loup City Rebels came out on top against the Burwell Longhorns by a score of 45-37 on Friday thanks in part to Jaixen, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.

Morgan Rademacher was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds. Those ten points gave her a new career-high.

Burwell lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kaitlyn Simpson, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Laurel Mann, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Arcadia/Loup City and bumps their season record up to 12-6. As for Burwell, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcadia/Loup City will be taking part in a tournament against Wood River at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burwell, they will square off against Twin Loup at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
