Volleyball Recap: Ursuline's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Ursuline waltzed into their game on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Harding Raiders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on September 2nd.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Ursuline took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-11, 25-9.

Leading Ursuline to victory were Cadence Horvath and Jess Hass. Horvath had 18 assists and seven aces, while Hass had nine digs and five aces. Those seven aces gave Horvath a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Ursuline was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in five consecutive contests.

Harding's loss came despite strong showings from Victoria Mitchell and Alaina Wagner. Mitchell had 11 digs, while Wagner had six digs and three aces.

Ursuline's record is now 10-5. As for Harding, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ursuline will host Mineral Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Harding, they will welcome Boardman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
