Baseball Recap: Momence Takes a Loss

Momence lost against Gardner-South Wilmington back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Momence Athletics took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Momence Athletics have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nick Charbonneau made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jackson Ford, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Momence's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Looking ahead, Momence will be playing in front of their home fans against Grant Park at 4:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Gardner-South Wilmington, they will take on Wilmington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
