Volleyball Game Preview: Argyle Eagles vs. Richland Royals

Argyle is a perfect 7-0 against Richland since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will welcome the Royals at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Argyle has six straight victories, Richland has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

If Birdville wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Argyle, they should've done a better job of containing Makenna Gregory. The Eagles walked away with a 3-1 win over the Hawks on Tuesday for which the team can thank Gregory, who had nine digs and two aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last eight games she's played.

The victory didn't come easy: Birdville scored at least 23 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Richland came up short against Colleyville Heritage on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 25-10.

Argyle's win bumped their record up to 27-3. As for Richland, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-20.

Everything went Argyle's way against Richland in their previous matchup back in September, as Argyle made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Royals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
