Softball Recap: Conneaut Takes a Loss

Conneaut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 14-0 to the Northwestern Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Conneaut's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Northwestern, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Coming up, Conneaut will face off against Lakeside at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans are facing the Dragons at the right time seeing as the Dragons are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Northwestern, they will head out on the road to square off against Cambridge Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
