Volleyball Recap: Humboldt Comes Up Short

Humboldt lost against Burlington on September 6th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cubs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.

Humboldt was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-23.

Ricklyn Hillmon paced Humboldt's offense, picking up six kills. Hillmon got some help from Lakyn Meadows and her seven assists.

Humboldt's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Burlington, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-3.

Humboldt wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Iola on the 27th. As for Burlington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Fredonia on the 27th.
