Garner and Sanderson squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Garner had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Sanderson Spartans by a score of 78-75. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

It was another big night for Nathan Fife, who went 7-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 42 points for Sanderson. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fife has scored at least a third of Sanderson's points. Another player making a difference was Gordie Balas, who posted 16 points.

Garner's loss dropped their record down to 26-5. As for Sanderson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.

Garner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sanderson, they will face off against New Hanover at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in New Hanover's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
