The Lakeview Charter Lions will head out on the road to take on Valor Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lakeview Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Last Friday, Lakeview Charter came up short against Sun Valley Magnet and fell 8-3. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Pioneers: they've now lost four in a row.

Eric Perez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.
Perez wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Angel Vazquez, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base. Vazquez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Brian Calderon also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Meanwhile, Valor Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 12-1 to Triumph Charter. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, Valor Academy couldn't push the score so high this time.
Samuel Herrejon was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Jorge Roman, who scored a run and stole three bases.
Valor Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lakeview Charter, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lakeview Charter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Valor Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 14 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lakeview Charter couldn't quite get it done against Valor Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 13-9. Can Lakeview Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
