Basketball Recap: Lehigh Piles Up the Points Against Golden Gate

Lehigh won the last time they faced Golden Gate and things went their way on Friday too. The Lehigh Lightning blew past the Golden Gate Titans 81-54. The Lightning have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Golden Gate still got an impressive performance from Sam Powell, who dropped a double-double on 42 points and ten boards. Powell continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Orville Salomon, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Lehigh's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Golden Gate, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Lehigh didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-48 victory against Fort Myers on the 13th. As for Golden Gate, they will head out to square off against Palmetto Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Palmetto Ridge has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
