South Fork has gone 9-1 against Hoopa Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The South Fork Cubs will head out to challenge the Hoopa Valley Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

South Fork managed to keep up with Middletown until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. South Fork was outmatched by Middletown and fell 78-46. The Cubs were down 58-37 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Hoopa Valley unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 68-54 bruising from Weed.

South Fork will need focus on slowing down Charles Sorrel, one of several Hoopa Valley players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Sorrel is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Brian Richards, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards.

Even though they lost, Hoopa Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

Hoopa Valley's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for South Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

South Fork came up short against Hoopa Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 70-58. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hoopa Valley's Lyle Mckinnon, who posted 21 points.
