Baseball Game Preview: Charlotte S Stampede vs. Carmel Christian Cougars

The Charlotte S Stampede will venture away from home to challenge the Carmel Christian Cougars at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Charlotte S will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Charlotte S turned things around against Grace Academy on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Lions as they made off with an 8-0 victory. The Stampede not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 4, 2024.

Grant Allen tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bowen Macy, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Tommy Shaw also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Carmel Christian entered their game against Metrolina Christian Academy on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Carmel Christian lost 14-2 to Metrolina Christian Academy. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carmel Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Trunck, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Carmel Christian suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 5-3. As for Charlotte S, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.

Everything went Charlotte S' way against Carmel Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Charlotte S made off with a 15-4 victory. Does Charlotte S have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carmel Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
