El Monte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 24-7 to the Duarte Falcons. One positive for the Lions, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Alex Aleman was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Geovanni Flores, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

El Monte's record now sits at 0-7. As for Duarte, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Coming up, El Monte will welcome South El Monte at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Duarte, they will take on Sierra Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Sierra Vista has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
