Football Recap: Englewood Comes Up Short

Englewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ridgeview Panthers. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Leo Taylor threw for 187 yards and one touchdown. Jeremiah Levy was his top target, picking up 109 receiving yards. On the ground, Travis Rodriguez rushed for 42 yards.

Leading Ridgeview to victory were Christian Felder and Jordan Mesa. Felder rushed for 128 yards and one score, while Mesa rushed for 79 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Those 128 rushing yards gave Felder a new career-high.

Englewood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ridgeview, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Englewood has already played their next game, a 74-0 loss against ED White on the 12th. As for Ridgeview, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Middleburg at 7:00 p.m. on the 19th.
