Baseball Game Preview: Mohawk Area Warriors vs. Sto-Rox Vikings

For the second straight game, Mohawk Area will face off against Sto-Rox. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Mohawk Area's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over Sto-Rox. That 17 run margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.

Mohawk Area got a great performance from Briar Crawford as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. The Warriors are 3-1 when Crawford allows three or fewer earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Bobby Fadden was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Stratton, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Mohawk Area is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Sto-Rox, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
