Basketball Recap: Brown Piles Up the Points Against River City Jaguars

Brown posted their biggest victory since February 10, 2024 on Friday. They blew past River City Jaguars 61-28. With the Bears ahead 45-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Despite the loss, River City Jaguars saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Enoch Johnson posted nine points. Johnson also put up a block, which washis first of the season. Zeb Stevens was another key player, putting up two points along with six rebounds and five blocks.

The win was the third in a row for Brown, bringing their record for this year to 8-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for River City Jaguars, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brown will square off against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Seneca's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests. River City Jaguars will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on LKY at 7:00 p.m. on February 25th.
