Baseball Game Preview: Greenup County Musketeers vs. Russell Red Devils

For the second straight game, Greenup County will face off against Russell. The Musketeers will face off against the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Russell hit Greenup County with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Musketeers fell 5-2 to the Red Devils. The Musketeers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Russell's part, Grayson Kiser was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Kiser has become a key player for the Red Devils: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jacob Toliver, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Russell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Russell's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-8. As for Greenup County, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-10.
