Baseball Recap: South Spencer Comes Up Short

South Spencer lost against North Posey back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rebels came up short against the Vikings, falling 17-2.

South Spencer saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Mattingly, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

South Spencer's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for North Posey, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Spencer will venture away from home to square off against McLean County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Posey, they will head out to challenge Gibson Southern at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
