Volleyball Recap: Mya Maurer Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat South Bend Saint Joseph

There's no place like home for Northridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies 3-0 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Raiders have posted against the Huskies since August 24, 2021.

The final score came out to 25-12, 25-20, 25-11.

Northridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mya Maurer, who had nine digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Maurer a new career-high. Izzy Melvin was another key player, getting 22 assists and five digs.

Northridge's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Northridge will be taking part in a tournament against Huntington North at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they will host Penn at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
