Basketball Recap: Butner Comes Up Short

Butner lost against Varnum back in November of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Butner Eagles took a blow against the Varnum Whippets, falling 76-4. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Whippets are ranked 202nd).

Butner has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Varnum, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

As of now, neither Butner nor Varnum have any future games scheduled.
