Basketball Recap: Apalachee Takes a Loss

Apalachee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 61-10 loss at the hands of the Asheville School (Independent) Blues. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

It was another big night for Ryann Hernandez, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine assists for Asheville School (Independent). The game was Hernandez's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alisha Watkins, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points and five steals.

Apalachee's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Asheville School (Independent), their win bumped their record up to 11-1.

Apalachee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 47-18 defeat against Northwest Guilford on the 20th. As for Asheville School (Independent), they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-41 victory against Patrick Henry on the 20th.
