Baseball Recap: Clever Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Clever's offense. They came up short against the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish on Tuesday, falling 12-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Blue Jays' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Clever saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Vaught-Green, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Clever's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Springfield Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clever will challenge Wheaton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Springfield Catholic, they will face off against Joplin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
