Volleyball Recap: Sylmar Comes Up Short

Sylmar lost against Kennedy back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. While the Spartans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Cougars 25-19 in the first set.

Sylmar started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 23-25, 25-17, 26-24, 15-9.

Sylmar's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-11. As for Kennedy, they pushed their record up to 14-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sylmar will head out to square off against University at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kennedy, they will venture away from home to take on Panorama at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
