Volleyball Recap: Wakefield Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Wakefield lost against Leesville Road back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wolverines lost 3-0 to the Pride.

Wakefield took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-18.

Lila Piburn paced Wakefield's offense, picking up six kills. Piburn got some help from Gigi Ugur and her ten assists. Finally, Skylar Wainio kept Wakefield's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Leading Leesville Road to victory were Isabelle Barna and Taylor Pasternak. Barna had 28 digs and six assists, while Pasternak had ten digs and two aces. Barna has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Wakefield's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Leesville Road, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-4.
