Basketball Preview: Adams City Eagles vs. Alameda Pirates
Adams City has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Alameda Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Adams City has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 405 points over their last six contests.
Adams City put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Aurora Central 64-43.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Adams City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kevin Casillas, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Dajon Jones, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Alameda's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 54-32 defeat at the hands of Skyview.
Adams City pushed their record up to 9-9 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Alameda, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
Everything came up roses for Adams City against the Pirates when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 98-28 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Adams City since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
