Soccer Game Preview: Mountainside vs. Beaverton

The Mountainside Mavericks will head out to square off against the Beaverton Beavers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Mountainside is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Jesuit on Monday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 3-3 draw.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Beaverton made sure to put some goals up on the board against Southridge on Thursday. They never let the Skyhawks get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. The matchup marked Beaverton's most dominant win of the season.

Beaverton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-1-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those seven matches. With that draw, Mountainside's record moves to 5-4-1.

Mountainside suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Beaverton in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Mavericks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
