Softball Recap: Southern Fulton Comes Up Short

Southern Fulton dropped their record down to 6-8 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Indians were not able to get on the board.

Southern Fulton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ava Beal, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with the win, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season. They haven't had any issues with Southern Fulton recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

On Claysburg-Kimmel's side, Launa Musselman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Musselman a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harlee Harcolerode, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Bella Francona was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Looking ahead, Southern Fulton will be playing at home against Hancock at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Claysburg-Kimmel, they will head out to take on Fannett Metal at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fannett Metal will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Claysburg-Kimmel surely won't give up without a fight.
