Volleyball Game Preview: Portola Tigers vs. Redding Christian Lions + Official Tickets

The Portola Tigers will square off against the Redding Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Portola is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Hayfork 3-0.

While Portola won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-11, 25-19.

Olivia Carr and Savannah Maybury were among the main playmakers for Portola as the former had 27 kills, 11 blocks, and two aces and the latter had ten aces and three digs. That's the most aces Maybury has posted since back in September.

Meanwhile, Redding Christian waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They put the hurt on the Wolverines with a sharp 3-0 victory.

Redding Christian walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-16, 25-21.

The victory got Portola back to even at 15-15. As for Redding Christian, their record is now 23-8-3.
