Eastern Wayne barely beat Goldsboro the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Cougars on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

Mallory Reed made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 21 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hannah Lee, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Natalia Pierce also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Eastern Wayne's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Goldsboro, they dropped their record down to 3-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Wayne will head out to square off against Princeton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goldsboro, they are taking a road trip to take on Beddingfield at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
