Basketball Recap: Fredericktown Extends Winning Streak to Four

Fredericktown extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Northridge. They were the clear victor by a 40-20 margin over the Northridge Vikings. Given the Freddies' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Vikings are ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fredericktown was led to victory by Mya Bryant and Cally Carpenter. Bryant dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards, while Carpenter posted 12 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Carpenter has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Gracyn Toombs, who scored six points.

Fredericktown was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge only posted four assists.

Northridge's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Naia Moore, who put up nine points and three steals, and Cora Hill, who earned five points and five blocks. The dominant performance gave Hill a new career-high in blocks.

The win (which was Fredericktown's fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.8 points. As for Northridge, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10.

As of now, neither Fredericktown nor Northridge have any future games scheduled.
