Recap: Fairfax Lions vs. South County Stallions
The Fairfax Lions's game on Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They skirted past South County 62-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Fairfax's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ronier Peters led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 11 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. Peters is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Cam Love was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Fairfax is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for South County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfax will challenge Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Robinson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 235th, while Fairfax is ranked 78th). As for South County, they will head out on the road to face off against West Springfield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
