Basketball Recap: Floyd Central Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Floyd Central had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 67-35 loss at the hands of the Silver Creek Dragons. The defeat continues a trend for the Highlanders in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost three in a row.

Floyd Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter McQuigg, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 10 points. Jude Vetter was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Kasen Daeger was nothing short of spectacular for Silver Creek: he shot 5-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Daeger also posted a 75% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brandon Hunter, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 10 points and five assists.

Floyd Central has already played their next matchup, a 64-53 win against Evansville Harrison on the 29th. As for Silver Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-43 victory against Charlestown on the 2nd.
