Basketball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern's last matchup with Northwestern could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Saturday. The Comets might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Tigers an easy 66-42 victory. The Comets haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Eastern now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Northwestern, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern will take on Southwood in a holiday battle at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Comets will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests. As for Northwestern, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2026.
