Recap: Gilman Greyhounds vs. New Hope Academy
The Gilman Greyhounds pushed their score all the way to 79 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of New Hope Academy by a score of 82-79. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (67), Gilman still had to take the loss.
New Hope Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Haki Muhammad, who scored 27 points. Muhammad is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Uriah Augare-Deal, who scored 21 points.
Gilman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for New Hope Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilman will take on Our Lady of Mount Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for New Hope Academy, they will be playing at home against Fairfax Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Fairfax Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten matches.
