Basketball Preview: Satellite Scorpions vs. Merritt Island Mustangs
The Satellite Scorpions and the Merritt Island Mustangs will face off on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Satellite is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Even though Merritt Island scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, Satellite still came out on top. Satellite secured a 64-59 W over the Mustangs. Given Satellite's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Mustangs are ranked 514th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Satellite pushed their record up to 17-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Merritt Island, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-15.
Satellite didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Mustangs in their previous meeting on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 64-59 win. Does Satellite have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
