Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alexander). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Rome Wolves a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their one-run performance the match before.

Erin Vineyard made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Vineyard was also big at the plate, going 2-for-2 with four RBI, a run, and a double. That run marked the first that she's scored this season.

In other batting news, Madison Smith was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Braylee Clark, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Alexander hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in six consecutive contests.
