After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Nature Coast Tech, Hudson was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Gulf Buccaneers. The win continues a trend for the Cobras in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now won five in a row.

Gracie Gutierrez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alivia Evans, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Hudson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Gulf, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Hudson will face off against Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gulf, they will square off against Wesley Chapel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
