Softball Recap: Garaway's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Garaway dropped their record down to 4-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

As for Tuscarawas Valley, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 13-0. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games.

For Tuscarawas Valley's part, Brennen Reichman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Reichman has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elliott Wallick, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Calli Stutz, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

While Garaway had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
