It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Upper Sandusky ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Shelby Whippets, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rams have posted since April 17th.

Upper Sandusky's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was David Gibson, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Upper Sandusky has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Shelby, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-10.

Coming up, Upper Sandusky will be taking part in a tournament against Elida at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Rams' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Shelby does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
